Jim is the Founder of Biker Down and full time Fire-fighter with 21 years’ experience working for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, he is currently a Crew Manager (equivalent rank to Lieutenant in Canada/USA) and based in Operations at Strood Fire Station in the North of the County. Amongst his Fire Service qualifications he is a Road Traffic Collision Instructor and a RSGB (Road Safety of Great Britain) qualified, Road Safety Officer. In this capacity he is also a member of the Fire Services’ specialist road safety unit, the ‘Kent Fire Bike team’.

 Jim has achieved his ‘Masters’ in Motorcycling and is an Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists National Observer and was the first person in Kent to be awarded a ‘FIRST’ in his Advanced Motorcycling Test after this new grade was introduced. He is a Department of Vehicle Licencing Authority qualified Motorcycle Instructor with over 20 years’ experience teaching novices.  

He has often been quoted as saying “I don’t do football but I understand the passion” this is in reference to many of his colleagues’ obsession with Soccer and his own absolute obsession with Biking since an early age.

 As well as his road bikes he enjoys trail riding his XR 250 on Enduro courses and local trails and thoroughly enjoys a blast around his local race track, Brands Hatch on a Sports Bike.

 Married to the long suffering Debbie and father to the bike obsessed Charlie, his 16yr old Son, he lives on the South Coast of England in Sunny Sussex and can’t wait to visit Canada sometime soon!
